Mnet has launched the mobile 'Expert Guide' to South Australia for the SA Tourism Commission.

Mnet Group (ASX: MNZ) announces the launch of a new mobile website that will help tourists discover the best of South Australia and share their journey with friends. The site at http://m.southaustralia.com/ marks the latest development in the South Australia Tourism Commission’s (SATC) multi-channel online strategy, which recognises the pivotal capabilities of mobile in assisting tourists and in marketing the state’s rich assets to visitors.
The mobile site is the “expert guide” for tourists in South Australia, displaying SATC verified “places” such as accommodation, events and attractions that are in the vicinity of the visitor. It provides detailed information, including navigation to these places through Google Maps integration and click-to-call.
Facebook integration enables visitors to chat with SATC staff and share the places they like with friends, generating marketing value as a by-product of utility - a key principle for the project team:
“Our intention is to make South Australia the easiest and most rewarding place to visit in the world by fully exploiting what mobile can do,” says David O’Loughlin, SATC Director Marketing and Communications.
“The site enables us to continue the conversation from online onto mobile where we can help visitors have an even better experience. This is not just a brochure in your pocket but an intelligent resource able to suggest places contextually.”
Later updates will see the site optimised for tablet functionality, multiple languages, broader integration with social networks and co-ordinated tours.
“Mobile’s destiny as the key customer interface is becoming clearer every day,” says Bob Humphreys, Acting CEO of Mnet Group. “This is the beginning of a very exciting roadmap for tourism in the mobile internet age.”
